I am trying to use the Magento ODBC driver with Filemaker, but this is totally useless.

My first try was the category DB which has something like 100 records. And this worked fine, after about 10 seconds the table was available.

Of course that is still a big lagged, but it is possible to work with.

The I tried to connect to our orders table, which has only 20,000 records, but it's impossible to work with.

Everything takes 10 minutes or so to refresh. I simply connected one table with one field called RecordID to the Magento Table "SalesOrder" field ID. I then simply generated a Layout with both field so I can show records with the ID I want to see.

This somehow works, but it's nothing anyone would work with, it takes often 10 minutes to load data etc.

Since I don't see any way to reduce the amount of Magento data records, let's say by limiting the record by one year, it's completely useless.

So is there any way to speed this up, for example by reducing the data?

Or is it just like that?
