Hi,

currently I'm trying to setup a linked server connection in Microsoft SQL Server 2019 to access a MySQL Database via the ODBC driver.

I've followed Connecting SQL Server Management Studio to MySQL via ODBC (devart.com) &  Windows DSN Configuration - ODBC Driver for MySQL (devart.com) and saw Troubleshooting in SSMS - ODBC Driver for MySQL (devart.com).

When I try to add the linked server via dialog and press <okay> the whole SSMS application *freezes*.

It's actually possible to create the server per t-sql. But if sp_testlinkedserver is started, the query tab *freezes* as well. The query doesn't timeout. The only solution is to kill the SSMS application with the Task Explorer.

Any idea whats going wrong or what I might do wrong?
