How to Activate a Trial Version in dbForge Products

Starting from release 2025.1, the method of using the trial version and Express Edition has been updated for all paid dbForge products. To help you get started smoothly, please follow the step-by-step instructions below.

As of version 2025.1, activation of a dbForge trial or Express Edition requires you to log into your Devart account and manually activate the product using a license key generated for you. This process ensures that your trial is securely linked to your Devart user account.
Note: The trial period officially begins on the first day you enter your trial activation key.

Step-by-Step Activation Guide

1. Create or Log Into Your Devart Account

Visit the Devart User Portal and register or sign in to your account.

2. Download the dbForge Product

Once logged in, download the required dbForge product directly from the Devart website.

3. Install the dbForge Product

Run the installer and complete the installation on your machine.

4. Access Your Devart Account

Return to your personal account at https://secure.devart.com using the same credentials you used to download the product.

5. Copy the Activation Key

After your first download of the dbForge product, a trial license key will be automatically generated for your account.

  1. Go to the Products section, click Details next to your product name and copy your activation key.

6. Activate the Product

Launch the dbForge product you installed.

  1. When prompted, paste the activation key to activate the trial version.

Additional Information

Previously Installed dbForge Users: 

When upgrading from any previous version of dbForge to version 2025.1 or later, the product edition may automatically switch to the highest available trial edition if the product hasn't been activated. To make use of the trial period, be sure to activate the product using a key.

You will see an active link in the application prompting you to sign in or register. Clicking this link will:
  1. Redirect you to the login/registration page
  2. Automatically generate a trial license for your current product

After the Trial Expires:

Once the trial period ends, dbForge will offer you a choice:
  1. Activate the product with a purchased license, or
  2. Continue using the EXPRESS Edition, which has limited functionality
